About Kikwetu

Kenyan by birth. Safari by calling.

Kikwetu Cultural Adventures is a Kenyan-owned safari operator based in Nairobi. We have been building tailor-made safaris for over 15 years — every itinerary handcrafted, every guide personally known to us.

Our story

Built from the bush up.

Kikwetu — meaning "ours" in Swahili — was founded on a simple belief: that a safari should be as individual as the person taking it. Not a fixed tour. Not a catalogue. A journey built around you.

We are a team of Kenyan safari specialists who grew up in and around the parks and conservancies we now share with travellers from around the world. Our guides are not just drivers — they are naturalists, trackers, and storytellers with thousands of hours in the bush.

Over 15 years, we have hosted more than 3,200 travellers from 45 countries, earned a 4.9-star rating on TripAdvisor, and built relationships with the finest lodges, conservancies, and community projects across East Africa. Ready to join them? Get your free safari quote →

Why Kikwetu

Six reasons travellers keep coming back.

O1

Licensed local operator

Kenyan-owned. Full KATO membership. Liability cover and bonded — your money is protected from day one.

O2

15+ years in the bush

Our guides are KPSGA-rated. Many grew up on the reserves they show you. Some have logged 8,000+ game drives.

O3

100% tailored

No fixed-departure rigidity. Your dates, your pace, your people. We adjust lodges and activities around you.

O4

Conservation-focused

We work only with conservancies and lodges that put community and wildlife first. 18% of every trip is reinvested locally.

O5

Transparent pricing

Every quote is itemised. Park fees, taxes, tips guidance — all visible. No hidden costs on arrival, ever.

O6

24/7 in-country support

A real person in Nairobi available from the moment you land until the moment you fly home.

Conservation & community

The other Big Five: the people.

"We don't perform our culture. We share it — with travellers who come to listen." — Mama Naserian, Olerai Village

Our cultural safaris are not staged. We work directly with Maasai and Swahili communities, and a portion of every booking is reinvested into community-run conservancies, schools, and women's cooperatives.
