Nairobi to Lake Bogoria and Drive to Nakuru City

You will be picked up from the airport or your Hotel in Nairobi by a designated Kikwetu Cultural Adventures driver/guide. Start your journey from Nairobi and drive to Lake Bogoria, which is approximately a 5-hour drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way. Arrive at Lake Bogoria and spend the afternoon exploring the shores of the lake, known for its hot springs and flocks of flamingos. In the late afternoon, depart from Lake Bogoria and drive to your accommodation in Nakuru City. Check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, spend the entire day exploring Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park, known for its flamingos, rhinos, giraffes, and other wildlife. Visit the Makalia Falls and the Baboon Cliff for stunning views of the lake and its surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay at your accommodation in Lake Nakuru.

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

After a hearty breakfast overlooking the stunning Lake Nakuru, we bid this picturesque landscape farewell and embark on a short 2-hour drive to our next destination, the serene Lake Naivasha.
Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, you’ll be warmly welcomed at your lodge. Here, the tranquility of the lake’s surroundings invites you to unwind and connect with nature in its purest form. Lake Naivasha is known for its unique charm, and our adventure here will be a memorable one. The highlight of the day is a peaceful boat ride on the glistening waters of the lake. This serene journey will bring you up close to one of Africa’s most intriguing animals, the hippopotamus. Watch as these colossal creatures gracefully wade through the water, their eyes and snouts occasionally breaking the surface, providing you with an intimate view of their aquatic world. As you glide along, the lake’s many bird species will serenade you with their songs, adding a harmonious backdrop to your adventure. Following this delightful excursion, we return to our accommodation for a delectable dinner.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara

Today we bid a fond farewell to Lake Naivasha and set out on a picturesque drive to the legendary Masai Mara. After approximately 5 hours on the road, we arrive at the Masai Mara, where the untamed wilderness stretches as far as the eye can see. Here, you’ll check in to your camp, a sanctuary nestled amidst the natural splendor of this iconic wildlife reserve for your well-deserved lunch.
In the afternoon, the true heart of our safari experience comes to life as we embark on a thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara. This vast, unspoiled landscape is home to Africa’s Big Five, you’ll have the opportunity to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, a spectacle that never fails to awe and inspire.
Return to your Masai Mara camp for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.

Full Day in Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, set out for a full day of game drives. This allows you to explore different parts of the reserve and increases your chances of witnessing wildlife in action. You’ll have a packed lunch in the park to maximize your time for wildlife watching. Your guide will help you track and spot animals while sharing interesting information about the fauna and flora of the region. Depending on the season, you may have the extraordinary opportunity to witness the great migration (July to September). Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon for dinner and a chance to share your wildlife encounters.

Optional Activities (at an extra cost):

• Masai Mara Hot Air Balloon ride; nothing is more spectacular than launching at sunrise and effortlessly floating in the air over and above the Mara plains.
• Visit a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle; the Masai are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the animals over the years

Masai Mara to Nairobi

Set out for a morning game drive before returning to Nairobi in the afternoon on the final day of the safari. Return back and enjoy your breakfast. Depending on your choices, we will drop you off at your hotel or the airport for your next African holiday destination. This marks the end of your 6-day adventure with Kikwetu Cultural Adventures.
