The permit fee to track gorillas in Uganda is currently set at $700 per person for foreign non-residents, $600 per person for foreign residents, and UGX 250,000 for East African citizens. This permit allows you to spend a designated amount of time with a gorilla group in their natural habitat.
Yes, gorilla trekking in Uganda is generally considered safe. The Ugandan government and wildlife authorities have put in place measures to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors during gorilla trekking experiences.
Gorilla trekking in Uganda can be physically demanding and strenuous, requiring a moderate level of fitness. The terrain in the gorilla habitats is often rugged, with dense vegetation and steep slopes, which can make the trek challenging.

The duration of the trek can vary depending on the location of the gorilla group and their movements. It can range from 1 to 8 hours or even longer in some cases. Trekking through the forests involves hiking, climbing, and sometimes navigating muddy and slippery paths

While gorilla trekking in Uganda provides a high chance of encountering gorillas, it is important to note that sightings cannot be guaranteed.
