Masai Mara is a large game reserve measuring 1,510 kilometers square in south western Kenya contiguous with Serengeti National park in Tanzania, it is famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, cheetahs and its annual migration of zebras and wildebeest which occur yearly from July to October hence known as the Masai Mara Great Wildebeests Migration. Over 1 million wildebeest flood the Reserve after traveling north from the Serengeti in Tanzania, along with large herds of other herbivores all looking for the best grazing. Closely following the herbivores are the predators, most notably lions and hyenas.
Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
You will be picked up and drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch at the camp or lodge. After lunch you will head for afternoon game drive in the game reserve which is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary. You will easily spot the big five, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Dinner and overnight at the Camp/lodge.
Days 2 & 3: Maasai Mara
Two full days spent viewing the annual spectacular wildebeest migration. The famous mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-manned lions, leopard and cheetah but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wild life to be found in Kenya, lunch is served in the park at the Mara river, after lunch continue with your game drive covering the park into sections, return to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Maasai Mara - Nairobi
Pre breakfast game drive, return to the camp for late breakfast, and then leave the camp and proceed to Nairobi with lunch enroute arriving in the afternoon.
